Trading from an entire 19th century townhouse at 10 Peas Hill, Cambridge, the Pint Shop offers an enviable range of ales, gins and great comfort food.
Inspired by the proliferation of beer hoses in 1830s, the décor oozes creativity, combining traditional and modern styles, industrial lighting and local impressionist art on the walls.
Whilst contemplating the Christmas lunch menu, we got stuck into the endless beer list, opting for a creamy and hoppy Sussex Hophead or two! Finally deciding to forego the bar snacks, we dove into the starters – to die for ‘Pigs in Blankets’, Lancashire Cheese croquettes, followed by Pork Belly with gorgeous creamed grain mustard cabbage in white port sauce for main, and chocolate & stout Figgy puddings, with Clementine Jellies to share for desert.
The place is delightful, reasonably priced and another shining example of Cambridge gastro revolution.
