May 17, 2018

Platea Food Market is an old theatre in a secondary location of the Serrano district, Madrid. It is arranged over four floors and is c. 60,000 sq ft, which brings together a collection of both local and regional food offers, as well as outlets serving Mexican, Italian, Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, to name but a few!

The main ground floor level acts as the centre stage with a giant delicatessen and specialist supermarket. The upper levels, which were the original gallery seating for the theatre, offer a mix of cocktail bars and craft breweries all entwined with amazing food offers. As you travel up through the building, the food and drink becomes higher end, culminating in a menu from 2 Michelin starred restaurant Arriba at the top. The main stage is used for a number of live events including jazz, opera, performing arts and cinema showings.

Platea is an amazing and immersive experience and a must visit on any city break to Madrid.
