Bradford up in Lights

December 11, 2015

Lunson Mitchenall has been appointed by Meyer Bergman to advise on the cinema and restaurant scheme adjacent to the recently launched Broadway Bradford shopping centre.

The Light, the UK’s most exciting new cinema brand, has already been signed up to operate the new state-of-the-art cinema. The extension, which was granted outline planning consent by Bradford Council in August 2015, includes the six-screen, 780 seat cinema and four restaurants, totalling 35,000 sq ft additional space in The Broadway.

The cinema and restaurants will be located on Broadway and Charles Street, creating further linkages between The Broadway shopping centre and the rest of Bradford City Centre. Together with The Light, terms have been agreed with two of the four restaurants, with the other two under offer. The operators of these restaurants will be announced shortly.

Lunson Mitchenall represented Meyer Bergman and its investors on the funding of The Broadway Bradford and has provided development and leasing advice throughout the development process. The Broadway Bradford opened on 5 November to a stunning performance by singer and X Factor star, Alexandra Burke, who opened the doors to the centre, which includes over 70 shops, restaurants, a food court and 1,300 parking spaces.
