(Meat &) Shake it Off

London born and bred smokehouse and barbecue restaurant Meat & Shake spreads its wings with new opening at intu Watford. Lunson Mitchenall acted for intu in the deal which saw Meat & Shake open a 140 cover restaurant spanning 3,200 sq ft this autumn.

The Meat & Shake concept originated as a burger restaurant in emerging foodie hub, Tooting. It has recently shifted its offer to a more smokehouse-based format after hiring Jasper Aykroyd as its new executive chef. It now focuses on bringing the best of Southern United States’ cooking traditions to the UK with a menu boasting everything from jumbo chicken wings, burgers, ribs and a host of other American favourites.

Following its opening, Meat & Shake has enjoyed a positive response from intu Watford’s affluent 5.2 million catchment population and is a further addition to the centre’s restaurant line up of popular high street names which also includes GBK, Pizza Express and Ed’s Easy Diner. Lunson Mitchenall provides retail and catering advice to intu for the one million sq ft centre which boasts 137 retail and leisure stores.
