A Sporty Start to Summer

July 1, 2016

Despite the less than sunny weather, the summer sporting season has started in earnest

Those more athletic types at Lunson Mitchenall have dusted off the cobwebs to partake in a host of property sporting events over the last few weeks. From Elifar and the annual Lunson Mitchenall golf day to the LandAid 10k run and annual Retail Agents Golf Tournament Championship…our sporting limits were put to the test. Here’s how we got on…

First up was the Elifar challenge day and a chance to win what has become a key event in the retail property industry’s calendar. Seven brave participants spent a day battling it out in a range of activities including tug-o-war, ultimate Frisbee, beach volleyball and table tennis at which we came out on top and took the overall crown 2016 winner. A special mention to Richard Cripps who wins the award for the best non-participating team captain….!

The next day of activity was a somewhat more leisurely day of golf at the RAC course in Epsom. This is the second time Lunson Mitchenall has hosted the day and it was, yet again, a roaring success. Matt Maynard did the home team proud with a total of 37 points. There was great representation from a variety of Lunson Mitchenall clients, from Schroders, DTZ Investment Management to New River Retail on the landlord side and Pizza Hut from our occupier client base.

If that wasn’t enough, the Mo Farah’s of Lunson Mitchenall – Will Hooper and Sam Fuller – partook in LandAid’s 10k at Clapham Common. With very toasty conditions and 788 other runners to beat, Will did Lunson Mitchenall proud with a time of 39:49 and Sam did an excellent time of 56:20.

Finally, the Lunson Mitchenall golfers travelled to the continent to showcase their skills to an international audience at the annual Retail Agents Golf Tournament Championship in Hardelot in France. The competition took place over two days, with our team coming fourth overall.

With the Lunson Mitchenall bike ride only a few months away, there is still time for others to start training….
