Three rooftop bars to visit this summer

July 4, 2016

With summer well underway in London, it’s time to head to the rooftops of the Capital and cool off with a drink.

Whether it’s a Tequila Sunrise that tickles your fancy or a Mojito that gets you in the mood, we have selected three of the best sky-high bars so you can enjoy your drink as dusk sets in.

1. East – Queen of Hoxton – 1 Curtain Rd, EC2A 3JX,

A popular hotspot with those trendy East Londoners, the Queen of Hoxton’s roof bar is definitely one place you need to visit. With a new theme each year, this summer it is A Tribute to Dr Strange – think San Francisco in the 1960s.

With plenty to eat and drink, the venue is also a perfect place to catch a film at one of the bar’s many event nights.

2. West – Pergola on the Roof – 101 Wood Ln, W12 7FA,

Boasting food from Rabbit, Salt Yard, Le Coq and Patty & Bun, the long-anticipated Pergola on the Roof is the talk of the town in West London.

Located at the old BBC television centre in White City, Pergola is the perfect mix of casual dining and great atmosphere – not to mention the fantastic array of food on offer. Perhaps one for foodies rather than wine connoisseurs, Pergola promises delicious and affordable fun.

3. Central – Notch – 535 Oxford Street, W1C,

Add another notch to your bar-post and get down to the latest rooftop concept to hit Oxford Street. Tucked away towards Marble Arch, Notch offers a peaceful retreat from the crowds of shoppers.

Perfect for post-work drinks or a casual Sunday-session, Notch’s Tuna can cocktails (luckily containing no fish!) are an imaginative addition to the bar’s menu. With a hidden entrance, this one is definitely worth getting your map out for.
